The much-hyped Xpeng P7 has a dedicated infotainment feature for the more irritable drivers that lets them hurl emoticons at the traffic, burying their cars in virtual fruit, shoes or – if you feel like it – cute pink pigs. Really, just check out the short video.

The second generation of the electric liftback went on preorder a few days ago. Although full prices are still unknown, the company reported getting 10,000 deposits in less than 7 minutes.

As most local media seem to agree, the Xpeng P7 has many things going for it, from a fresh and sporty exterior to cool tech gimmicks on board. Among other things, you can customize the functions of the door buttons and watch movies on a humongous 87-inch projected heads-up display. The Augmented Reality-powered pig-tossing feature may be junk, but it may help the more fatigued drivers relieve their stress, the reviewers argue. And what’s wrong about that?

Buyers will be choosing from multiple P7 specs, starting with a single-motor one rated at 367 PS (362 hp / 270 kW). Upgrading to two motors gets you four wheels driven with 595 PS (587 hp / 438 kW) total. Batteries come in 74.9-kWh and 92.2-kWh sizes and provide between 702 and 820 km (436 and 509 miles) of range, depending on your chosen trim options.
