Hozon Auto has announced a special version of its Neta U electric car called the U-Saloon. Contrary to its name, the vehicle is SUV-shaped and will be available exclusively through taxi services.
Compared to the standard Neta U shown in the attached video, the U-Saloon boasts a two-tone paintjob and a roof-mounted information bar. It offers only three passenger seats, because there is a comfortable footrest occupying the place of the front right seat. A display is mounted on the ceiling along with a status bar showing relevant route information in real time.
The tech stays unchanged. The car is still 4,530 mm long, 1860 mm wide and 1,628 mm tall with 2,770 mm between the axles. The base spec offers 161 hp (120 kW) and 210 Nm of torque, but you can pay extra to get 201 hp (150 kW) and 310 Nm. Different battery sizes grant 400 and 500 kilometers of NEDC-rated range. Prices range between 139,800 and 199,800 Chinese Yuan.
Hozon Auto CEO Zhang Yong pointed out that the car had originally been slated for premiere at the Auto Beijing show in September, but then the launch was postponed until next year.
