Meet Elation Freedom, a 1,900-HP hypercar

Automotive startup company Elation Hypercars has revealed the Freedom, its first production hypercar set to launch in a few years’ time with gasoline and electric powertrains to choose from.

The vehicle is reportedly still at an early prototype stage right now, so these 3D renderings and sketches are all we have to judge it by. Elation says it is 4,495 mm (14.75 feet) long and only 1,055 mm (3.46 feet) tall. Its monocoque cabin consists of Kevlar and carbon fiber parts and weighs as little as 81.6 kilograms (180 lbs). The body panels are likewise carbon, and the doors are of a gull-wing persuasion. An active rear wing adjusts its position on the go, and the suspension all around is dual-wishbone, with pushrods used in the back. Ohlins shocks are adjustable in the 50-100 millimeter (2-4 inch) range, and cornering is possible with overloads up to 2g.

The entry spec implies three electric engines mounted one at the front and two at the rear axle. Their cumulative power output amounts to 1,414 PS (1,394 hp / 1,040 kW), while the torque sits at 1,440 Nm (1,062 lb-ft). A 100-kWh traction battery grants it around 300 miles (480 km) of range. Weighing in at 1,650 kg (3,637 lbs), the coupe needs 1.8 seconds to hit 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) and does not max out until 260 mph (418 km/h).

The top spec has four motors, 1,903 PS (1,877 hp / 1,399 kW) and 400 miles (640 kilometers) of range from its 120-kWh battery. No acceleration specs are provided for it.

Rounding off the range is the Elation Freedom Iconic Collection, a gas-powered variant of the same car packing a naturally aspirated Lamborghini V10 bolstered to 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) and 664 Nm (490 lb-ft). This one also uses the Lambo’s pre-selective DCT box and AWD system. It weighs only 1,293 kilos (2,850 lbs) and needs 2.5 seconds to hit 60 mph (97 km/h). The top speed lies at 240 mph (386 km/h).

When the Elation Freedom comes out in 2023 or so, it will start from U.S. $2 million for the EV version and $2.3 million for the Iconic Collection V10.
