Pocco Duoduo manages to be compact and practical

Budding Chinese automaker Pocco has announced the Duoduo, a subcompact electric car scheduled to hit production later this month and go on sale in June to compete against the likes of the Baojun E300 (see video).

The four-door hatchback is 3,325 mm long with 120 mm of ground clearance. Its only electric motor produces 39 PS (38 hp / 29 kW) and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft) of torque, enabling acceleration up to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Customers will be able to choose between two battery sizes: 9.2 kWh, which is said to be enough for 120 km (74.6 miles) of NEDC-rated range, and 14 kWh, which is enough for 170 km (105.6 miles). Charging the battery via a regular wall socket takes 6-8 hours on average.

With the rear seats folded, the EV has 987 liters (nearly 35 cubic feet) of useful trunk space. Features include a digital dashboard, multimedia touchscreen, tire pressure control, and ABS.
