AC Cars has introduced its latest V8-powered supercar, the roadster-shaped Cobra GT. The company had spent three years developing it and hopes to launch sales in 2024 at the earliest, although pre-orders are already being processed.
The vehicle is 4,330 mm (169.1 inches) long and has 2,570 mm (100.4 inches) of inter-axle spacing. Its exterior bodywork is carbon fiber mounted on an aluminum space-frame. The suspension is implemented on a per-wheel basis, and the front brakes have six pistons per caliper, with a simpler four-caliper setup at the rear.
Power originates from a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 663 PS (654 hp / 488 kW) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission can be six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic, but both drive the rear wheels alone. The manufacturer estimates the 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) launch time at 3.4 seconds and promises a top speed as high as 278 km/h (173 mph).
Prices in the UK start from £285,000.
