Afghanistan rolls out its very first supercar running on a Corolla engine

A team of professionals spent five years working on Mada 9, a prototype supercar that you can view in detail in the attached videos.

The vehicle was co-created between 30 specialists from Enlop and the Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute of Kabul. It is unclear how – and whether, for that sake – the car moves around. A draped interior suggests that the development is far from over.

Still, there are first-hand reports about the powertrain. Apparently, the car uses the same cylinder block as the Toyota Corolla, but mounted at the back and tuned for performance. Moving forward, the team plans to make the car fully electric.

The local media have praised the prototype as “the pride of Afghanistan” and intend to show it to the rest of the world once it is ready.
