Aston Martin shares its outlook for the next few years

According to CarBuzz quoting Aston Martin CEO Lawrence Stroll, the carmaker plans to start unveiling new models heralding its switch to eco-friendly energy sources as soon as this summer. A mysterious mid-engined coupe is also mentioned for the first time.

The transformation of the Aston Martin lineup will begin with a major update of the current front-engined car range. The company will most likely keep the nameplates DBS, DB11 and Vantage alive for another generation, but everything under the hood will be completely overhauled. This includes the engines, the chassis and the suspension, the exterior design and the infotainment features, among other things. Per Stroll, the sheer scope of changes will be comparable to the company designing and launching these cars from scratch instead.

In addition to the above, the British company is getting two EVs ready to rustle. One is a mid-engined, coupe-shaped sports car and the other is an SUV. The latter sounds like a battery-electric variant of the DBX, but we are wondering what the former is. There is still no info on that one, but the company intends to market it a step below the Valhalla supercar (see video).

Aston Martin’s plans for 2023 include shipping around 7,000 vehicles to their respective buyers and soon raise that number to 10,000.
