Drag Race: Audi RS 6 vs. Tesla Model X Performance

The CarWOW team has put a latest-gen Audi RS 6 up against an electric Tesla Model X in its crowning Performance spec. As different as the contenders may seem, both have five doors and four driving wheels. They also cost about the same in Europe.

The C8-gen RS 6 boasts a four-liter, twin-turbo V8 rated at 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission delivers the momentum to the wheels. The wagon weighs in at 2,075 kg (4,575 lbs) and costs £97,000+ in the UK.

The Model X Performance extracts 778 PS (767 hp / 572 kW) and 1,140 Nm (841 lb-ft) of torque out of its dual-motor powertrain. It is not the latest nor the greatest in its lineup, but the three-motor variant hasn’t shipped yet. It weighs around 400 kg (880 lbs) more than its rival and starts from £101,000.

Both cars end up showing similar results on the quarter-mile stretch, while top speed and brake efficiency tests clearly awarded the victory to the lighter of the duo.
