NAMI has posted some test footage of Aurus luxury vehicles in extremely low temperatures of the northern Russia. The video is two minutes long and shows a Komendant SUV being driven through the snow alongside multiple Senat saloons.
The testing was performed in the Russian town of Noyabrsk at –45ºC (–49ºF). January temperatures in this region of the country drop as low as –55ºC (–66ºF), and barely reach +16ºC (61ºF) in summertime.
During their testing routine, the NAMI crew evaluated the performance of all principal units and components of the cars, as well as the expenditure of fuel and various other liquids. Special attention was paid to the rates of snow and dirt accumulation on certain parts. In the end, the company proclaimed the tests a complete success.
The Aurus Senat has been in production in Tatarstan since last spring. The Komendant has yet to reach the assembly lines.
