Bentley Continental GT gets its first RWD edition

The British luxury carmaker has confirmed that its next vehicle is called the Continental GT Supersports. It is also the first GT model without all-wheel drive; more will be revealed at midnight local time on November 14, 2025.

According to the announcement, the Supersports will make do with a rear-wheel drive system and will be the lightest Bentley vehicle in the company’s entire modern history. We suppose ditching AWD played a role in this, but the company shared a new teaser pic that makes it clear that the car uses plenty of carbon-fiber trim alongside carbon-ceramic brakes.

Just what kind of powertrain the Supersports has remains to be revealed. The company only says it will be “more emotional” to drive than the standard Continental GT. Earlier Bentleys like this used to ship with a W12, but with that mill no longer emission-compliant and already discontinued, we’d rather bet on a turbocharged V8. A solid engine like that could easily produce 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) or more without any electric add-ons.

The first Bentley Super Sports in history saw the daylight in the UK exactly 100 years ago. Since then, the company has only produced three models with that nameplate; the upcoming Supersports will be the fourth. How many units will be made is unknown, but the company says the production is limited.
