Exceptionally well-kept E30 BMW M3 poised to fetch €240k

RM Sotheby’s will be holding a sale in Paris at the end of January dedicated, among othr things, to this E30 BMW M3 Sport Evolution. The Sport Evolution series came out in 1990 limited to just 600 production units, and while most were tuned or otherwise abused, this one has seemingly survived in its full OEM glory.

The Sport Evolution was the pinnacle of the E30 model evolution. Every car received an S14-series four-cylinder engine stroked out to 2,467 cubic centimeters of displacement and tuned to 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW). A Getrag five-speed manual transmission handled the torque. The standard M3 of the era was typically capable of around 200 horsepower (150 kilowatts), so the SE packed a considerable advantage.

On the outside, the coupe seen here is immediately recognizable as an SE thanks to a power-assisted front splitter, extra front bumper cold air intakes where the fog lights usually are, and a rear wing blade extender. With these modifications, the E30 could sprint 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in 5.8 seconds and proceed to a cool top speed of 248 km/h (154 mph).

The owner of this bright red example ordered it with an AC in the cabin and black leather upholstery. It’s not exactly a new car with 53,118 kilometers (33,006 miles) displayed on the odometer, but the listing claims it’s in perfect condition with a fully transparent maintenance record.

The auction will take place on January 28, 2026. In the meantime, you may want to have a closer look at this limited edition by watching the video above.
