Check out a Cadillac Brougham turned into an unhinged off-road hearse

A while ago, Streetside Classics put up for sale a highly eccentric and quite macabre 1990 Cadilac Brougham moved onto Chevrolet chassis and turned into a corpse hauler. But what a corpse hauler it is!

The tuner, whoever it was, took a Brougham body and mounted it on top of the Chevrolet K10 truck chassis. The rear end of the car was remodeled from sedan to estate/crossover, and a wooden casket was put in there for extra style points. If you happen to think it was a cool decision, consider that the casket compartment has no limiters or fastenings of any kind. The implications are such that a bumpy drive along a dirt road to a graveyard may leave the cargo in a rather battered state – an unpleasant state of affairs, to say the least.

The custom car boasts extraordinary tall ground clearance and comes equipped with 17-inch wheels shod in mud tires. Skull ornaments adorn its tailgate, steering wheel and glove compartment. Despite the venerable age of both donor vehicles, the interior packs quite a few modern amenities, such as multimedia, cruise control, air conditioner and power windows.

Propelling the hearse forward is a 5.7-liter V8 that appears to be non-stock. A four-speed automatic transmission sends the momentum to the rear wheels, but it seems that AWD would be relatively trivial to implement given the available equipment.

The macabre off-roader goes for U.S. $19,995, one wooden casket included. As tempting as it may sound, no one has bought it within the month that had passed since the ad was posted. Do you have any idea why?
