Shots of the new Chery Arrizo 5 GT sedan have made it online. Compared to the standard Arrizo 5 Plus (see video), the new vehicle has different styling cues and a 197-PS engine.
The front end gives off Lexus vibes with its giant and elaborately shaped radiator grille and similar headlights with DRLs. The exhaust system culminates in four tips, and the taillights are darkened.
There is barely any chrome left on the body: the badges and the shoulder line moldings are the only things still shining with it. A peek behind black 17-inch wheels reveals black brake calipers.
The car is under 4.6 meters (15.1 feet) long and comes powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged Chery Kunpeng engine rated at 197 PS (194 hp / 145 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque. The same engine goes under the hood of the large Tiggo 8 Plus SUV. The sedan uses it in conjunction with a seven-speed DCT to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in six seconds flat.
Sales will begin in August with the current price estimates at 90,000 CNY (13,500 USD).
