Chery facelifts Tiggo 7 & Tiggo 7L in China

The mid-life refresh leaves the domestic Tiggo 7 lineup with exterior and trim improvements, while the mechanical bits stay the same. There's also a “new” model in the family called the 7L, which is actually a rebadged Omoda C7 for the global market.

Starting with the regular Tiggo 7, it now sports a new radiator grille with vertical bars, a reshaped front bumper and headlights similar to those of the Tiggo 7 Plus. Coming in at 4,530 mm (177 inches) long with 2,670 mm (104.3 inches) of wheelbase, it is 30 mm (1.2 inches) longer than the pre-facelift version.

Like the Tiggo 7 Plus before it, the “normal” Tiggo 7 now has two 12.3-inch dash displays. It also boasts a different steering wheel and a revised transmission tunnel. The base spec comes with 17-inch wheels, textile upholstery, cruise control and a reversing camera. Upgrading to the mid spec gives you eco-leather trim and larger 18-inch wheels. The top trim gets heated steering wheel and front seats, ventilated seats all around, surround-view cameras and a power-assisted tailgate.

The SUV’s standard 1.5-liter turbo four-pot continues to send its usual 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) to the wheels via a CVT.

In turn, the Tiggo 7L looks just like the Omoda C7 it is based upon, unless you count a new front bumper and chrome-trimmed grille. The interior makes use of some China-specific trimming materials, but otherwise stays the same. The four available powertrains are also sourced directly from the Omoda variant.

Price-wise, a minimally equipped new Tiggo 7 will set you back 79,900 Yuan in China ($11,695). The L version is expected to start at 85,900 Yuan ($12,573) when it goes on sale at an unspecified later date.
