Katech Performance pushes the Chevrolet Camaro to 800 HP

Detroit-based car tuner Katech Performancehas unveiled a power kit for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE coupe.

The Stage 4 upgrade consists of K-Force distribution shafts, an improved turbocharger, a new cylinder head assembly, a Roto-Fab intake system and a larger throttle body.

Once the upgrade is installed, the stock V8 engine of the car goes up from 659 hp (491 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lbft) of torque to spectacular 711 hp (530 kW) and 890 Nm (656 lbft). Note that the new figures refer to the engine power measured at the dyno, while the nominal output at the crankshaft is actually closer to 800 hp (600 kW) and 1,000 Nm (740 lbft).

The Chevy Camaro by Katech Performance isn’t the strongest Camaro build out there (we’ve already seen it pushed to 1,014 hp / 756 kW), but it’s definitely worth a closer consideration if you want more power for your coupe.
