2025 Chevy Colorado drops entry-level engine

The Chevrolet Colorado pickup, which debuted a few years ago, has now been facelifted and had its weaker engine option removed from the list.

All variants of the truck come equipped with the same 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. It used to be available in two versions – standard 240 PS (237 hp / 177 kW) and boosted to 314 PS (310 hp / 231 kW). The price difference between the two was as small as $1,285, so most buyers went for it.

This is why the 237-hp version is no longer available in the new model year. In its current guise, the Colorado stands closer than ever to its upscale cousin, the GMC Canyon, which has always shipped with the 310-hp powertrain.
