The lifecycle of the elderly Chevrolet Lacetti is coming to an end worldwide as one of the few remaining production sites – UzAuto in Uzbekistan – decided to phase it out with more modern cars, local newspaper Avtostrada reports. Before it can happen, buyers will be treated to a Limited Edition.
In the ex-USSR country, the Lacetti is currently on sale with a 1.5-liter engine pumping out 106 PS (105 hp / 78 kW) to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. It starts from 184.8 million Uzbekistani Som (U.S. $15,000).
Rumor has it that Chevrolet plans to replace the Lacetti with the latest Onix, Cobalt and another upcoming affordable vehicle that will allegedly be announced soon. The factory is also being retrofitted for the production of a new premium car wearing the Cadillac badge.
