An eBay ad was recently posted for the unique Razorbak, a Mad-Max-esque off-roader with badass looks and sheet-steel bodywork. The unique ride flaunts massive 54-inch (138.5-centimeter) wheels and calls Hawaii its home. The seller claims it is street-legal and asks for $65,000.
A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup provides the basis for the conversion. The body is all custom with gull-wing doors and shatterproof windows, among other things.
The frame benefits from stainless-steel tube reinforcements and utilizes Baja Trophy suspension arms along with monster truck sway bars and remote reservoir shocks. Running on air cushions, the Razorbak allows adjusting its ground clearance within 150 mm (6 inches).
The wheel rims themselves are 21 inches across and feature a complex multi-piece design. The six-piston Brembo brakes stem from a Porsche Cayenne, per the seller.
The engine is stock, which is by no means bad since it’s a 6.6-liter Duramax V8 diesel. The six-speed Allison transmission on board benefits from custom driveshafts and Axletech axles, as well as an Axletech transfer case. The power is not specified, but the owner says the manifolds, the exhaust system and the filters are all new.
It is claimed that the Razorbak would be easy to legalize for street use in “virtually all” U.S. states, since its dimensions and lights all around are within the legal requirements. The length, width and height are roughly 5 x 2.6 x 2.4 meters, respectively (16.4 x 8.5 x 7.9 feet).
