Test: How fast is an ABT-tuned Cupra Formentor?

Car tuners do not always measure the actual acceleration capabilities of the cars they modify, and even when they do, you will still be understood for wanting to do your own research. In this video, a Cupra Formentor boosted by ABT Sportsline is put to a few acceleration tests.

In its stock form, the crossover SUV packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The tune-up shop lifts these numbers to 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), putting the standard spec nearly on par with the range-topping Formentor VZ5 with its Audi five-cylinder.

According to ABT, the car should be able to reach 100 km/h (62 miles per hour) from standstill in 4.6 seconds. The OEM sprint time is 4.9 seconds, and the VZ5 mentioned above manages the sprint in 4.2 s.
