This Taubenreuther-tuned Dacia Duster can go anywhere, but probably won’t

German tuning shop Taubenreuther has been outfitting vehicles for heavy off-road use for decades, and this brutal-looking Duster truck is its latest work.

The Duster is only available as an SUV in Germany, but the company made an exception here, importing the pickup from abroad. It ended up with an in-house lift kit for 35 mm (1.4 inches) of extra ride height, Koni Heavy Track shocks, Borbet alloys wrapped in BF-Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 rubber, and a winch rated for 2.4 metric tons (5,300 lbs) of towing effort. The underchassis received three guard plates made from 6mm aluminum.

A Rhino Rack Multi-Rack occupies the bed, and an Osram FX1000 LED bar shines light on the up to 600 meters (1,968 feet) ahead in dry weather.

Pimped out with pretty much everything Taubenreuther has on offer, you would expect the Duster to have considerable off-road capabilities, but the company isn’t eager to demonstrate that. Instead, the truck will be used as a show car.
