DeLorean rolls out a conceptual trio, fantasizes about a future that never was

The resurrected DeLorean brand has recently unveiled its first all-electric car – the Alpha5 shown in the attached video – and is now following up with three sketches trying to guess where the original DMC would have been by now if it hadn’t been shut down in the 1980s.

In this alternative universe, a sports car named DeLorean Alpha2 debuted in 1996, introducing the world to the marque’s new vector of development and leaving the classical design of the DMC-12 forever in the past.

In 2006, the imaginary company decided to break free from the canonical and found the segment of all-electric cars, releasing its first truly mass-market EV ahead of Tesla. Finally, in 2013, it resolved to introduce a hydrogen crossover SUV to the market, causing a revolution in the industry.

Of course, dreaming is perfectly fine, but the company actually announced a reveal of a few new cars coming up on August 21, 2022. One has to wonder, will we be seeing any of these design sketches or at least their individual features there?
