BYD-owned premium vehicle brand Denza has released the first camo-free images of its flagship SUV, the N9. It is slated to go on sale in late 2024 in hybrid and battery-electric variants.
The car has an understated and nearly rectangular body design with a layered front fascia, an emphasized bumper and hardly any radiator grille to speak of. A LiDAR can be seen on the roof, and video cameras are built into the mirror stalks.
According to rumors, the N9 is a full-size SUV that’s around 5.3 meters (207 inches) long. In its all-electric form, the model will allegedly pack three motors driving the front axle and the two rear wheels individually with a combined 965 PS (952 hp / 710 kW). The hybrid will utilize 207-PS (204-hp / 152-kW) engine to power its 870-PS (858-hp / 640-kW) electric system. Adaptive suspension and 4WS will be included as standard, unofficial reports say.
It is likely that the Denza N9 will be based on the same platform as the company’s Z9 GT hatchback that went on sale in China in late August (see video). That one is also available in hybrid and BEV flavors and starts from 339,800 Yuan. Once the N9 arrives, it will take on the likes of the Aito M9 and Li Auto L9 on its domestic market.
Moving forward, Denza has plans for a full-size minivan and a couple of sedans for China.
