Dodge Challenger Drag Pak is a 7-second dragster with brake chute

Mopar has unveiled a special edition of the Dodge Challenger, dubbed the Drag Pak and developed specifically for the NHRA racing series. The tuner claims the supercar can do a quarter-mile run in under 7.5 seconds.

Each car comes powered by a 5.8-liter turbocharged V8 rumored to deliver up to 1,500 hp (1,120 kW) to the wheels by means of a custom three-speed automatic transmission. The exact numbers aren’t public information.

As a dedicated dragster, the Dodge Challenger Drag Pak comes equipped with special tires, adjustable suspension and solid rear axle. It also packs a mandatory roll cage and even a brake parachute.

Fifty cars will be produced in total. The prices are pending.
