Donkervoort F22 lands with extra power, less weight

Niche sports car maker Donkervoort has finally unveiled a replacement for the D8 GTO, dubbed the F22. The newcomer shares zero parts with its predecessor and benefits from a stronger engine.

On the outside, the Donkervoort F22 sports a long hood, a short rear overhang and exposed front wheels. The chassis uses stainless steel in combination with the company’s signature carbon fiber, and the body is all-carbon. The roof consists of two removable panels.

Having been thoroughly tuned, a standard 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder under the hood produces 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW). This seems like plenty when you consider that the car weighs as little as 750 kilograms (1,653 pounds). A short-throw five-speed manual gearbox sends the torque to the wheels through a Torsen LSD, allowing for a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph).

Other noteworthy features include AP Racing brakes and 19-inch wheels in the back combined with 18-inch ones at the front end. Adjustable suspension is a paid option. Inside, the dashboard is digital, the steering wheel has multiple buttons on it, and the seats are racing-ready.

Only 75 units will be made and offered starting from €245,000.
