The Yaoguang SUV is the first Exeed to follow the marque’s newest design direction, and it can be pre-ordered now starting from $24,000.
The model is the manufacturer’s first production car based on the M3X Mars Architecture 2.0. The upgraded architecture version means new shock absorbers, improved brakes and electronics and, most importantly, a self-driving system. It is only at Level 2 for now, though.
Powering the Exeed Yaoguang is an improved 2.0-liter turbo engine rated at 261 PS (257 hp / 192 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The top speed lies at 205 km/h (127 mph). A hybrid variant has already been confirmed as well, but it will debut later.
Higher trim levels offer a flip-back footrest for the front passenger that can be connected with the seat to form a solid reclining half-bed. The option eliminates the glove compartment, though.
The dashboard houses two 12.3-inch screens, and switching gears can be done easily thanks to a paddle shifter under the steering wheel. The center console looks clean with only some HVAC controls on it.
