Some time ago, Fiat unveiled a new crossover SUV uninventively called ‘Fastback’. It has now gained a special edition from Abarth.
Compared to the stock car (see video), the heated-up special lacks any Fiat badges or logos, sporting those of the tuner on the grille, the hubcaps, the front fenders, and the steering wheel.
Other than that, the car boasts redesigned bumpers and red accents all around, including the cabin. The side sills and the fender flares, on the other hand, are no longer unpainted – they match the body color in the Abarth version.
As you may know, Abarth typically tunes up the engines of the cars it works upon. The Fiat Fastback “powered by Abarth” is a notable – and misleadingly named – exception. Its 1.3-liter engine still produces 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW) on petrol and goes up to 185 PS (182 hp / 136 kW) on ethanol. To compensate, the tuner says the suspension, brakes and steering have all been tweaked for a sportier feel.
