U.S.-based restoration shop Icon 4x4 has taken a 1968 Ford Bronco and turned it into a textbook example of a restomod – powerful, capable, comfortable, and expensive.
Once restored, the body was moved onto a completely new chassis by Art Morrison, treated with epoxy and a protective layer of black powder. The body was given a fashionable retro livery in blue and white.
The stock engine was also discarded in favor of a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It was tuned to 446 PS (440 hp / 325 kW) and equipped with a Borla stainless-steel exhaust. Six-piston Brembo brakes at the front and four-piston ones at the rear were installed for better control over the tuned SUV.
Of course, no restomod project would be complete without a full interior makeover. It received the same color scheme as the exterior with Moore & Giles saddle leather wherever you look. Despite looking like a time machine, the Bronco BR Old School Edition manages to conceal a Premium multimedia system in the center console and has a Vintage Air V5 climate control system installed, too.
