Auto-Tuning
The Hoonigan team of talented tuners has given us plenty of reasons to admire their projects, but the latest one might just end up our favorite.
The 2004 Ford F-150 Lightning leaves the factory equipped with a 5.4-liter supercharged V8. The projects envisions it being swapped out for 2JZ, the legendary turbo0six engine of the Mk4 Toyota Supra. The transplant has already been finished, but the team will have to find a way to make it work with the stock transmission and electronics.
Hoonigan says it will have to procure plenty of aftermarket and custom-made components for the project. No word is given on the numbers, but judging by the larger turbines, injectors and a new air intake system, the output will exceed stock several fold.
Watch the entire 17-minute-long video for an insight into the technicalities behind the truly unique Ford Frightening project.
