The team of Fastcar.co.uk is raffling off a unique Ford Mondeo turned from a mundane city car into a no-nonsense track tool. Participation only costs £5, and the proceeds will be donated to a charity organization helping children with cancer.
The fourth-gen saloon comes wrapped in a vinyl wrap designed by Helen Stanley. It boasts four-piston EBC Racing brake calipers at the front axle and has Rotiform BUC-M 19-inch multi-spoke rims installed.
Styling doesn’t nearly sum it up, though. The cabin is stripped clean of everything not needed for the track, including the rear seat row and even the floor mats. New Corbeau RS2 bucket seats offer four-point safety harnesses for the driver and the co-driver.
Power for the build comes from a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine tuned with new cooling, intake and exhaust components to produce 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW), a 60-hp improvement over the original. The torque peaks at 450 Nm (332 lb-ft). A different flywheel is installed, and the transmission benefits from a more robust clutch.
How do you like this charity initiative?
