Rumor: 7th-gen Ford Mustang coming up in the fall

The premiere of the next-generation Ford Mustang may take place much earlier than expected, Automotive News reports citing an anonymous source. Apparently, the reveal is scheduled for the Detroit Motor Show.

This year should see the Detroit show returning to us after a three-year hiatus, so the reports might be true. The manufacturer has neither denied nor confirmed them yet.

Ford had originally planned to unveil the next-gen Mustang in April 2023. The car is expected to come to the market with a choice between an EcoBoost 2.3 four-pot and a 5.0-liter V8, as well as an AWD hybrid powertrain at a later date.

Judging by the spy shots obtained so far, it will preserve its recognizable appearance with a short rear end and long nose. It looks like the front end will change the most, particularly thanks to a new radiator grille and headlights.
