Ford will soon be launching the Mustang Shelby GT350/GT350R Heritage Edition, complete with Carroll Shelby’s iconic blue-stripes-on-white livery, black seats with red stitching inside, and commemorative plaques to highlight the cars’ special status.
From the technical point of view, everything stays stock. This includes the naturally aspirated V8 engine with 5.2 liters of displacement, which sends 533 hp (397 kW) along with 582 Nm (430 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. In contrast, the historical 1965 GT350 extracted ‘only’ 310 hp (231 kW) out of its V8 4.7.
The production begins early next year. You need U.S. $1,965 to have your Mustang GT350 upgraded to Heritage Edition. The base car starts from $60,440 for the GT350 and $73,435 for the GT350R spec, plus taxes and shipment.
