Geely Preface sedan pics leak ahead of premiere

Geely debuted its original Preface Concept at the Auto Shanghai show last spring (watch the video if you missed it), and today, the final production version of the car is no longer a secret thanks to a few leaked images.

The grainy and overall low-quality pics still reveal much about the upcoming sedan. For one thing, it no longer boasts any of the “cool” features its conceptual predecessor had, such as the concave radiator grille, suicide rear doors, and cameras acting as side mirrors.

This is Geely’s second car model after the Xingyue hatchback/SUV built based on the Volvo CMA platform.It is 4,785 mm (15.7 feet) long, 1,869 mm (6.13 ft.) wide and 1,469 mm (4.82 ft.) tall with 2.8 meters between the axles (9.2 feet). The tires measure 225/45 R18 on both axles. The curb weight amounts to 1,542 kg (3,400 lbs) and goes up to 2,050 lbs (4,520 lbs) with the occupants and luggage inside.

For the time being, the sedan will ship with a Drive-E 2.0 TFSI engine under the hood, rated at 190 hp (142 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. Flooring the pedal will get you to 210 km/h (130 mph) at most. As for the transmission, the eight-speed Aisin gearbox of the technologically related Volvo XC40 seems like the likeliest candidate.
