Genesis unveils ambitious product plans for the next five years

Hyundai’s premium vehicle brand Genesis has come to the New York International Auto Show with a new product strategy for the North American region. It envisions launching 22 new or updated models in the United States and Canada until 2030, as well as localizing most of the production.

The company shied away from revealing any particular models from the list, but assured us that it contains both utility vehicles and light passenger cars. Allegedly, it’s also heavy on models from the market niches that Genesis has no current presence in. Some of these are based on the modern and brutally minimalistic X Gran Equator Concept (pictured above), while others draw inspiration from the boxy and frame-based Boulder Concept unveiled the other day.

For the time being, Genesis plans to gain a foothold in the U.S. and Canada markets with these new models. Moving forward, it plans to export the most successful ones globally.

It’s still unknown where the company plans to open its new assembly line in North America. What we do know is that it plans to launch a metallurgy plant alongside it, as well as a research center with a specialization in next-generation robotics.
