Hoonigan’s latest video compares a 2001 Nissan Skyline on the drag strip against a 1988 Honda CR-X. The match looks uneven until you consider the mods.
Powering the Honda is a tuned 2.0-liter engine hitting the front wheels with 253 PS (250 hp / 186 kW) through a five-speed manual transmission. It may not look like much, but consider that the whole car weighs as little as 839 kilos (1,850 lbs).
The Nissan gets significantly more power out of its 2.5-liter inline-six turbo. Specifically, it sends 303 PS (299 hp / 223 kW) to the rear axle via a five-speed manual gearbox. On the downside, it weighs in excess of 1,400 kilos (3,086 lbs), a circumstance that may or may not ruin the race for it.
