Hongqi’s H9 Executive Custom series looks weird by European standards

Chinese luxury carmaker Hongqi has unveiled a lineup of five H9 sedans trimmed to the Exclusive Custom spec and looking rather gaudy to the Western eye.

The first car debuted back in April with a silvery-violet body finish and a light-hued cabin.

The second one is all black with golden and chrome accents. It bears an original badge and has flag holders on the front fenders. The cabin remains hidden from view.

The third one boasts bespoke 20-inch wheels and comes in a livery combining sandy golden with greenish blue. Its interior evokes gypsy baron vibes with plenty of green and white leather, fake gold inserts, and even paintings used for decoration.

Red and black are the predominant colors of the fourth sedan, although there is also a fair number of gold accents and an original dashboard graphics.

Rounding off the quintet is a comparatively tame-looking white-and-red example.
