Hyundai Exter presents exter-ior

The compact-sized Hyundai Exter SUV is targeting India as its primary market, but a camouflaged pre-production example has recently been spotted in South Korea as well.

It remains unknown whether the model will ever go on sale outside of India, where it is set to ship this summer, Carscoops reports.

According to the publication, the fact that the car lacks any exterior camo clearly means it is the final production version. There are protective decals in a few places, but they do not seem to conceal anything of note.

Overall, the exterior is in line with what we have seen on the recent teasers. There is a nearly upright radiator grille, two-tioer headlamps with H-shaped daytime running lights, and squarish wheel arches trimmed with black plastic. The rear end seems more rounded than usual, and the roof slopes gently towards a partially black c-pillar creating the ‘floating top’ effect.

It is assumed that the CUV will run on the same low-end car platform as the Grand i10 Nios and slot in between the Venue and the Casper in terms of size. For the engines, customers in India are most likely to get 83 and 100 horsepower options coupled with manual and automatic transmissions. The Exter is expected to become Hyundai’s cheapest crossover in the country when it debuts.
