The Hyundai Verna, alternatively known as the Accent or the Solaris, will transition into its next generation in India on March 21, 2023. In the meantime, Autocar India has published some images that it claims are the official photos of the car, although they are conspicuously missing from the manufacturer’s website.
The vehicle looks like a smaller, trimmed-down Elantra that borrows individual design elements from the marque’s more expensive offerings. This includes the Grandeur-style light bar squeezed in between the hood cover and the radiator grille. The radiator grille shape, the sculpted sides and the front fascia styling remind us of the Elantra.
It is assumed that, along with refreshed looks, the car will get a significantly updated interior with larger infotainment displays to choose from.
It is already official that the base spec will ship with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission or IVT. This version produces 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW). The top trims will take advantage of a 1.5-liter turbo engine obtainable in manual and 7-speed DCT variants, rated at 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW).
Pre-orders are already running in India.
