China-based automaker IM has unveiled its third production vehicle so far – an all-electric SUV called the LS6. Domestic sales should begin before the end of the year.
The model is 4,904 mm long, 1,988 mm wide and 1,669 mm tall with 2,950 mm between the axles. Its drag ratio is surprisingly low at just 0.237.
The doors are frameless, and a panoramic dimmable-glass roof is included in the base spec. The interior has two displays installed instead of IM’s usual three, and the steering wheel is yoke-shaped, but you can order a normal one if you prefer it. Those sitting in the rear row get a folding table to themselves.
Unlike the brand’s other vehicles, the IM LS6 has an 800V electric system on board capable of briefly hitting 875V without issue. Mere 15 minutes at a powerful charging station can replenish 500 km (310 miles) of range. The total range ‘exceeds 750 km’ (466 miles), the company says without providing further specifics.
In its base version, the SUV relies on a single electric motor rated at 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW). Its more expensive dual-motor counterpart packs 787 PS (776 hp / 579 kW), letting it sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.48 seconds.
