Next-gen Jeep Cherokee shows up

Jeep has shared some photos of a new Cherokee SUV generation scheduled for release this year. The exact launch date is still pending.

It’s clear that the company did away with the controversial exterior design of the previous generation, opting for a safer and more iconic boxy look. The positioning hasn’t changed, meaning that the new Cherokee will slot in between the affordable Compass and the bulky Grand Cherokee.

In the powertrain department, the company promises us “state-of-the-art hybrid tech”. The STLA Large platform the vehicle runs on supports all kinds of powertrain types from ICE to BEV, though, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see a bit of everything in the mix.
