Jetour renames X90 Plus to Pro for the next model year

Chery-owned car brand Jetour has unveiled the X90 Pro, a second facelift of the original X90 SUV. It is already available for ordering in five trim variants priced from 129,900 to 171,900 Yuan (U.S. $18,300–24,200).

Compared to the previous facelift version named he X90 Plus, the Pro has a completely different front fascia that makes it look almost identical to another car based on the same chassis – the Shanhai L9 revealed last fall. It has the same DRL stripe running under the hood rim and the same headlight design with both the main lights and the anti-fog lights sitting much lower than you’d expect. The only difference between the two is in the radiator grille: while the Shanhai L9 sports a triangular mesh pattern, the X90 Pro sticks to classic vertical bars.

The interior has also been redesigned to resemble the L9. The single large display is no more, replaced with a standalone 15.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. The transmission tunnel and selector have been devised as well, and an extra box for small things has been added. Like before, the X90 can be ordered with five or seven seats.

Customers in China can also choose between two turbocharged petrol engines. One pumps out 197 PS (194 hp / 145 kW) from 1.6 liters of displacement and the other one delivers 254 PS (250 hp / 186 kW) and 390 Nm (288 lb-ft) of torque. Both use the same seven-speed DCT for transmission with no other options.

In its most basic trim, the X90 Plus rides on 19-inch wheels and has LED lighting all around. It has leather upholstery, a panoramic roof with a hatch, a power-adjusted driver’s seat and a six-channel audio system. The driver gets surround-view cameras and cruise control without having to pay extra. Options include 20-inch wheels, ACC, more power assists, a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving suite, and a Sony eight-channel sound system. There’s also immersive ambient lighting and a high-end climate control system with ionizer and air freshener features.
