Kia K8 gets a hybrid variant in South Korea

Customers in South Korea may now pay either 39.13 (asking price) or 36.98 (all tax subsidies factored in) million Won to get a Kia K8 HEV, also known as the K8 Hybrid. Other markets will get it in the second half of the year.

The sedan uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, getting a net total of 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Fuel consumption varies from 5.56 to 5.95 liters per 100 kilometers, and the transmission is six-speed automatic.

On the outside, you can tell the K8 Hybrid from its gas-powered cousin by its new wheels available in 17 and 18 inch diameters, as well as an HEV badge. LED headlights, lane control, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and collision prevention are all part of the standard spec. All seats come wrapped in leather and support power adjustments and heating, while the driver’s seat is ventilated as well.

Higher trims introduce a 12.3-inch digital dash screen, a same-sized infotainment display, ventilated front passenger seat, all-around view cameras, a dual-tone interior finish with Nappa leather, and more.

Available at a premium are a Meridian audio system, a panoramic glass roof, a HUD display, and electronic suspension.
