2024 Kia Sonet revealed in a video

The India-based branch of Kia has posted a photo and a video showing its facelifted affordable crossover, Sonet, which slots in under the Seltos model in that country. The pre-facelift CUV that debuted in 2020 is no longer available to order, and the new Sonet will officially premiere on December 14.

In keeping with the automaker’s current design language, the car gets slim, cord-like DRLs around the main headlamps, but their shape is unique. The bumpers and the radiator grille have been redesigned, too.

The video briefly touches upon the interior as well, showing an updated dashboard along with stock-looking center console and head unit. The Bose badge on a speaker grille suggests that a more upmarket trim may be on the way.

Last but not least, the car in the video launches from a traffic light, possibly hinting at a higher-performance version coming up. The current Sonet models come equipped with a wide range of engines rated from 83 to just 120 metric horsepower (82–118 hp; 61–88 kW).

It seems like the facelift version will be considerably more expensive. Still, Kia will want to avoid pricing the new Sonet close to the Seltos, which starts from 1,089,900 Indian Rupees.
