E.C.D. Automotive Design has produced a one-off eight-seat Land Rover Defender 110 restomod for a customer in the United States. The car, which only became legal in North America a few years ago due to the infamous 25-year rule, was redone from the ground up to be better than ever.
Visible at the first glance are a greyish-blue paintjob and 16-inch alloy wheels shod in off-road tires. Convenient running boards, an ARB bull bar at the front end and a Kahn Design grille contribute to the styling, while a winch and an external roll cage suggest that the owner is someone who doesn’t mind an occasional joyride out in the wild.
The interior is very modern by Land Rover standards and accommodates four ergonomic Recaro seats along with four paratrooper seats at the rear. The trim uses at least three different leather types, including alligator, and wood veneer accents can be seen on the wheel, the console and the door handles. A Kenwood eXcelon multimedia unit outputs its sound through a multichannel audio system with a subwoofer.
Powering the fancily named Project Sweet Pea is a supercharged LT4 V8 mill churning out 640 PS (630 hp / 470 kW) and 854 Nm (630 lb-ft) of torque.
