Land Rover has teased a new Defender special edition called the Octa, which is currently running its road tests. The premiere should take place before the end of the year.
The Octa lineup draws its design inspiration from the gem-cutting industry. Its name refers to one of the ways to shape a diamond. It will occupy the flagship position in the company’s lineup offering more raw power, performance and luxury than any other Defender on sale right now.
According to Land Rover, the model will utilize a twin-turbo V8 engine alongside an electric starter-generator. In all likelihood, it will be the same BMW engine that Land Rover has been putting inside Range Rovers recently. Off-road tires and Brembo brakes are also on the list.
