Tuner revives just one Jaguar E-Type with a V12

ECD Automotive Design no longer clutches to its past when it was just “East Coast Defender”. The tuning company has recently introduced an awesome one-off Mustang restomod and is now following up with an equally impressive Jaguar E-Type makeover.

The British roadster underwent a complete restoration that saw it retrofitted with a new removable hardtop and resprayed in British Racing Green. The interior received just as much attention with all-new trim, brushed aluminum on the dashboard and Spinneybeck Lucente Hercules leather seats replacing the admittedly rather basic original seats. Moal Bomber instruments rounded off the stylish look.

As nice as the exterior changes are, the ace of this particular build lies under the hood. It comes in the form of a large, naturally aspirated Series III twelve-cylinder engine further upgraded by Team CJ from Texas. With new injection and cooling at its disposal, the mill churns out more than 406 PS (400 hp / 300 kW) to the wheels now, although the exact numbers are missing. At any rate, the restomod features heavy-duty brakes, modern suspension and improved steering, so it should be a hoot to drive regardless.

We don’t know how much this one-off E-Type build cost its owner, but ECD Automotive Design offers similar restoration projects not limited to the Land Rover Defender lineup anymore.
