Lexus has released the first image of its upcoming seven-seat SUV named the TX. While not particularly revealing, the photo is enough to see that the model is based on the same platform as the Toyota Grand Highlander (see video).
Rumor has it the premiere is just a few weeks away. Judging by what we have seen so far, the Toyota Grand Highlander and the Lexus TX have the same wheel arch and door outlines, the same roofline and rear spoiler. The Lexus seems to try to distinguish itself through different bodywork and taillights, among other things.
In all likelihood, the new TX SUV lineup is coming to replace the stretched RX model in the same market niche as the Cadillac XT6 and the Infiniti QX60.
