Even though the Ghibli is an entry-level sports car by Maserati standards, it still has a full-fledged Trofeo version. YouTube channel AutoTopNL decided to see whether the sedan would be able to reach its speed limit on a German speedway (spoiler: it was not).
For those who forgot, the Ghibli comes powered by a Ferrari-designed 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8. The mill churns out 580 PS (572 hp / 427 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) to the rear wheels.
According to the paper specs, the sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) lasts 4.3 seconds and the top speed amounts to a cool 326 km/h (202.6 mph). In reality, though, the driver was only able to reach 278 km/h (172.7 mph).
