More photos of the upcoming Mazda CX-90 appeared on the Internet mere hours before the official reveal of the large SUV. Autoevolution believes the exterior is finished in a new shade called Artisan Red.
There is quite a handful of photos, one of which shows the SUV in full without any kind of camo. As you can see, it boasts a sporty stature with sharply inclined c-pillars. It looks like the design team managed to shape the rear end in this fashion without sacrificing any of the rear bench legroom or trunk space.
Another intriguing feature is the use of fashionably old-fashioned chrome all around: you will find it on the radiator grille and window bezels, as well as on the side sills.
The off-roader utilizes a new platform that supports RWD in its simplest implementation, but we expect the First Edition to have AWD. The engine is reportedly a 3.3-liter inline-six mill rated at 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) – more than any other production Mazda has. There will allegedly be a hybrid spec as well, but its parameters remain unannounced.
The CX-90 is a seven-seater trimmed with eco leather, fabric and imitation wood panels sporting a lifelike wood grain texture. Other than that, the interior layout features seem copied straight from the CX-60; the previously revealed teaser images support this theory.
