Fast & Furious Mazda RX-7 goes on sale estimated at $0.25M

A 30-year-old Mazda RX-7, which its seller claims was the only RX-7 to have starred in not one, but two Fast & Furious movies, is now heading to auction expected to fetch between $175,000 and $250,000 despite less-than-perfect condition.

The car has been comprehensively tuned and comes with a full package of documents confirming its authenticity and detailing its background. According to these, it was originally built alongside four identical copies for Vin Diesel to drive in the first Fast & Furious movie. Later on, the sports car was redesigned and made an on-screen appearance in the opening scene of the second movie (the chase scene, where it is driven by Amaury Nolasco).

Compared to the original, the modded ride sports a custom body kit, a new hood cover, 18-inch wheels, Sparco seats, ambient lighting inside and a bespoke steering wheel with nitrous-oxide injection controls on it. The livery corresponds to what we see in 2 Fast 2 Furious, and the tailpipes can be set to spit flames. Minor defects and use marks can be seen throughout the exterior.

Power for the build comes from its original 1.3-liter rotary engine driving a five-speed manual transmission with 255 PS (252 hp / 188 kW).
