Unique Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG sells for 2x the new AMG GT price

An extremely rare 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG convertible just found a buyer in Netherlands. The limited series it belonged to consisted of 100 units (80 for Europe) and celebrated the marque’s victory at the DTM championship.

Compared to the standard CLK series, the topless ride sports a different body kit, wider wheel span, Dunlop tires, and suspension improvements.

While the regular CLK 63 AMG produces 475 hp (354 kW) and the Black Edition 500 hp (373 kW), the DTM AMG churns out 574 hp (428 kW) alongside 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Its supercharged 5.4-liter V8 sends the momentum to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.

Further features include Bi-Xenon headlights, GPS navigation, an air conditioner, and a cabin wrapped in leather and Alcantara with carbon fiber and aluminum inserts.

The car only had 5,073 kilometers (3,152 miles) on the odometer and fetched its seller €299,500. To put things into perspective, the latest Mercedes-AMG GT C can be obtained in Germany for €152,000, and the CLK DTM AMG series started from €236,000 when it came out fourteen years ago.
